Rob Ostby began his venture into art photography in 1968 while a student at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. His passion for photography continued, as he furthered his studies at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
Until recently, he was particpating regularly at the Tri-Community Center For Photography in Covina, California, where he studied Fashion and Fine Art Figure Photography. His worked was selected to be displayed in various galleries, and selected work was displayed at the presteigous, 2006 Los Angeles County Fair Art Show. In 2007, Rob won a coveted Merit Award and had 2 images published in the Annual Black & White Magazine's Single Image Contest Issue. In 2008, his Virginia Barn Study portfolio was selected as an excellence award winner and was featured in the Annual Contest Issue of the same publication. Black & White Magazine is recognized as the top International Publication devoted to the collecting of fine art black & white photography.
